TROUBLESHOOTING

The Go utilizes a two-stage filtration system consisting of a microfilter membrane and an activated carbon filter.

–  The membrane microfilter lasts up to 1,000 gallons (4,000 L) and will stop allowing water to flow through once it’s reached the end of its lifetime.

– The activated carbon filter lasts up to 26 gallons (100 L) of water with proper use and maintenance. We recommend replacing this when you notice a change in smell or taste of your water or every 60 or so days with regular use.

If your LifeStraw product requires replacement filters, our dedicated support team is ready to assist you. Please reach out to us for prompt and reliable service.

Please note: When buying a replacement membrane microfilter, ensure you are getting the correct replacement for your version of the Go bottle. Lids with the flip up straw will need a press-fit filter. Lids with a twist-on mouthpiece and lid require a screw-in filter.

You should clean your bottle regularly; we recommend a weekly cleaning to keep your bottle in tip-top shape.

To clean the mouthpiece, follow these simple steps:

• Remove the filter from the bottle.

• Remove the carbon capsule from the top of the filter.

• Soak your mouthpiece in a diluted bleach solution. Use ¼ teaspoon of bleach per 2 Cups of water (5 ml of bleach to 500 ml of water).

• Wash the mouthpiece along with the bottle and lid with detergent, and thoroughly rinse the membrane microfilter with water. Do not use soap to clean the filter body.

• Reassemble and drink up

If you are traveling and do not have access to clean water or household bleach, we recommend using a non-scented anti-bacterial wipe to clean your mouthpiece and then allow to dry before resuming use.

We recommended washing your LifeStraw Go bottle by hand but if needed, the Go bottles can be placed in the dishwasher for cleaning, but only after the filters are removed and you should avoid the heated dry setting. It is recommended to remove the cover and mouthpiece from the main cap and wash them separately.

Please see our video guide for proper procedures on safely and effectively washing your bottle.
